So, the title of this blog comes from a poem by Spanish poet Antonio Machado (yes, I know I'm going to Perú, but oh well). It's called "Caminante."
Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino, y nada más:
caminante, no hay camino
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino
sino estelas en la mar.
Or, for those of you who are less-than-proficient in español:
Wanderer, your footsteps
are the road, nothing more:
Wanderer, there is no road
the road is made by walking.
By walking one makes the road,
and upon glancing behind
one sees the path
that will never be trod again.
Wanderer, there is no road--
only wakes upon the sea.
I will be in Cusco, Perú from May 5th to June 30th, 2008. I'm here to write about all the aventuras I'll have walking on this camino.

Adrien, call your mother!!!! You know that I am technolocically challenged and do not understand this impersonal blog stuff. On the other hand, I think you are amazing and relish every word you write (post?). Is this a Christmas letter? Hugs, Mom
